Here is another panorama from last Saturday when I, among the other things, visited my favorite places at the Liptovska Mara lake; as I already mentioned in my previous post. This view shows the Rohace mountains and the peak of Krivan. The Rohace mountains are part of the Western Tatras, whereas the Krivan peak belongs to the High Tatras mountain range. It can be seen on the most right side of this picture. This peak is frequently used national symbol in Slovakia. Various surveys among hikers and recreational tourists have ranked the Krivan as the Slovak country's most popular mountain.

As you can see it was a nice day last Saturday, full of sunshine with clear blue sky and quite comfortable temperature for this day of the year; around 0 degrees Celsius (32 Fahrenheit). Previous days it was freezing a lot and because of that some parts of the waters of the Liptovska Mara can be seen covered with ice.

As many of you already know from my previous posts, the Liptovska Mara is the second largest lake in Slovakia by area (27 km2 / 10 mi2) and it is a very popular holiday destination for travelers from all around the world, of course, especially during the summer months. But even when it is freezing cold the Liptovska Mara does have something about it, doesn’t it?! This lake is located in Liptov region, on the river of Vah, between towns of Ruzomberok and Liptovsky Mikulas, northern Slovakia.
