This photo presents you to the Orava castle, located in Slovakia, surrounded by a forest of trees. What you can see here in this photo are the lower levels of the castle, which are made up of various different buildings. The Orava castle is a truly amazing artifact of history. It has been built in 13th century and later further rebuilt in various architectural styles. Finally it was architecturally preserved again in 20th century after it had been burned down by a fire several hundred years ago. Throughout the centuries that have passed various architects have redesigned it and added different features to the castle. So the castle has basically gone through several renovations. Upon arrival a tour guide leads the visitors into the castle and tells about every artifact as well as the history of the castle. There are tour guides that speak in English as well as other languages since there are visitors that come to the castle from all over the world. As you view this photo of the Orava castle, you get only a sample of just how breathtaking it would be to visit. It’s nothing compared to visiting the castle for yourself in person. The castle has been well preserved for the many centuries that it has been standing, even after being rebuilt many years ago. The views from within the castle are absolutely wonderful and refreshing; it gives those who visit a sense of relaxation and pleasure as the carefully observe their surroundings. Visitors might come on a day when they have a chance to watch some historical or cultural performances on the grounds of the castle. The walk up to the castle is up a steep hill so those who visit are advised to wear comfortable walking shoes; there are lots of stairs to climb as well, which in return offers great exercise for those who are in need of it. As you make your way up to the castle you will also get to see the Orava River as well as its surrounding scenery.

I am an enthusiast photographer with passion for photography of nature, animals and historical cultural heritage sceneries, such as pictures of castles, medieval towns or outdoor museums.
