As time was passing by I published various photos of the Liptovska Mara lake here on my blog and social accounts, showing scenery around this tower during various seasons, lighting or weather conditions and different angles; but, I simply still don't have enough of this location. So here I go again with this tower! ;)

As I already mentioned in my previous post from today's morning, I am spending the day browsing through my archive of digital photos that I have taken some time ago, preparing and editing them for final use. Here is again a picture I took at the location of the Liptovska Mara lake, during the ice cold January of 2009.

Regular readers of my profile will surely recall that it quite resembles one of my previous posts, where I showed similar winter view of this tower. Surely, that is not entirely a coincidence, because this photo is from the same series. I have taken it from a slightly different angle, than the last time, but what is the most important, this time it is a panorama stitched from 2 photos, so it covers a wider angle of the same scene.

As I already mentioned, it is again a view portraying the remains of the tower that was once part of historical Church of the Virgin Mary, based at the Liptovska Mara lake, with hills of the Rohace mountains, part of Western Tatras in the distance; during the ice cold winter!

As you can see even this photo was captured almost at the sundown, when shadows are getting longer and longer, with temperature dropping below a threshold that many people might not be comfortable with. But, I still believe that even when it is freezing cold, this place simply does have something about it, doesn’t it?!

Anyway, the Liptovska Mara is the second largest lake in Slovakia by area (27 km2 / 10 mi2) and it is a very popular holiday destination for travelers from all around the world, of course, especially during the summer months. This lake is located in Liptov region, on the river of Vah, between towns of Ruzomberok and Liptovsky Mikulas, northern Slovakia.
